A VDS is an instance that is deployed on a dedicated server to utilise the entire dedicated server's resources allocated to it using virtualisation technology. There is no overcrowding with a VDS leaving you the ability to consume every last bit of resources available to your instance.
Our VDS' make use of KVM virtualisation technology. KVM virtualisation allows clients to configure their kernel's and have total control ove their machines just as they would if they had purchased a dedicated server.
ISO's are welcome and KVM's stability means it can handle custom ISO's to Windows ISO's with no issues..
Initially, a virtual dedicated server can be seen to be a fancy name given to high end calibar of VPS. This is not wrong as to some, a VDS is a VPS.
There are however some distinguishable differences between your everyday VPS and a VDS.
A VDS instance takes up an entire server whereas a VPS is configured to host multiple server instances. A VDS is allocated a partiton with 100% of the dedicatd servers resources.The virtualized layer of the VDS sits on top of the server itself.
The ability to have snapshot backup's can be purchased by contacting support. But, by default, we do not offer any form of backup for VDS as clients prefer to set up their own offsite back up.
We provide a Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 ISO's, however, you also have the ability to upload your own ISO's via your dashboard.
